The WRAPS program, along with many individuals across the watershed, supports the idea of using the resources of the watersheds wisely. In such part, we focus many of our efforts not only to promote conservation of water resources but also wise use and proper disposal of materials within the watershed.

Battery Recycling- used batteries can be dropped off at any of the following locations where we will make sure they are recycled or disposed of properly.
All Counties can drop off used batteries at any Extension Office or Conservation/NRCS Office. Last year we collected 1578 lbs!
- Ellis County: Ellis-City Office, Hays-Environmental Office
- Ellsworth County: Ellsworth-Weed Dept/Recycling Center
- Russell County: Russell-Pohlman's Hardware
- Trego County: WaKeeney- Landfill, Road and Bridge Office, Recycling Center, or Watershed Office
E-waste- any electronics including computers, cd players, televisions, printers, toner cartridges, cell phones and more can be brought to any of the following locations where they will be properly disposed of or recycled:
- Ellis County- County Landfill
- Ellsworth County- Weed Dept/Recycling Center
- Trego County- Landfill, Watershed Office
Tire Clean Sweep- old tires laying around the watershed can be brought in free of charge. Look on our events calendar or local publications to see what dates and where tires are being accepted
