Project Purpose

In efforts to highlight some of the alternative or best management practices performed by producers every year to conserve our natural resources, we have created a watershed self-guided conservation practices tour.  Anyone within the watershed or around the world can see what producers in the Big Creek Middle Smoky Hill River watersheds are doing to protect water and soil resources as well as sustain the lands we use to produce crops and livestock.  In the four counties we selected, we have highlighted 96 best management practices.

Take some time to surf the website, take the virtual tour, or print off any one of the county maps and spend a day or evening driving a county to see first hand how diverse conservation practices are and how each fits it own operation.
